At the beginning of the third wave, corona infection has been seen in a large number of health workers and staff working in health institutions across the country, including Kathmandu.
A total of 143 health workers have been infected in six major government hospitals in Kathmandu alone. According to the hospitals, 65 health workers and staffs have been infected at Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu, 35 at Veer Hospital, 25 at Patan Hospital, 4 at Teku Hospital, 10 at Nepal Police Hospital and 4 at Armed Police Hospital.

Infections are also on the rise among health workers in districts outside the Kathmandu Valley. Twenty-seven people have been infected in Dang, 15 in Bharatpur Hospital, four in Amapipal Hospital in Gorkha, four in Banke, four in Nagyanpur Hospital in Siraha, two in Mahottari, two in Parsa, one in Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital in Saptari and one in Mechi Hospital in Jhapa.
The health workers themselves have said that the risk of the treatment system being affected has increased if there is no effective initiative to control the rapidly spreading infection.
